Ms. Megan Wagner

This Week in Ms. Wagner's Class

Week of Septeber 14th - 18th

What we are learning

This week in reading we will begin Unit 1. The focus for this week's readings will be on the genre: Realistic Fiction. In addition, the students will have vocabulary words that we will review throughout the week, as well as spelling words. We will spend time practicing how to reread parts of a story that may not make sense, to better understand and comprehend the whole story.

We will begin our Narrative Unit. We will start Monday, by having the students show me what they know about narrative writing through a cold write. We will then start focusing on the different elements of narrative writing.

We will continue working on Unit 7 . This week we will cover: Patterns and Relationships, The Coordinate Plane, and graphing ordered pairs. I have decided to have our first quick quiz on Monday, Sept. 14th to allow the students to have more time to practice and ask questions about the first three sections. I sent home a review sheet with all students on Friday.

News from Ms. Wagner: I will always try to allow students to have time in class to complete most of their work, but there will be some nights that they will come home with homework. Please always be sure to check their black take home binders and assignment notebooks. Reminder: Students should be reading for at least 20 minutes a night, every night.
